FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the weather like in Qatar?
The weather in Qatar changes quite quickly. In the Summer it gets very hot, around 40 to 45 degrees celcius. In the winter it drops to around 18. For diving, the summer means shorts and a rash guard, in the winter you need a thicker wetsuit.
What is the water like in Qatar?
The water tempreture changes a lot in Qatar so you need a range of suits. The visibility is dependant on tides and currents. Off shore you can see the wreks from the surface. Sometimes you can feel incredible currents which will take you across the site, We can offer you the correct training to go.
Is it hard to learn and get certified?
The first course, PADI Open Water, is a course designed to accommodate any type of learner. It teaches you all the things you need in order to start diving. Our instructors work to ensure that all aspects of the course are taught and understood fully and then they guide students into the water. By the time students reach the sea they are confident and excited to see what's under the water! - Will the fish bother me? The fish in Qatar view divers as big fish. They swim along side you but they don't get close. We don't encourage fish feeding at Nomadik Hub as it is detrimental to the behaviour of the fish and also unhealthy for them. You will see the fish swim along side you checking you out as much as you are checking them out.
What about Scuba Diving in Qatar, is it any Good?
Yes, It's definitly worth learning and reaching advanced certification in order to see the ofshore sites.Diving in Qatar ranges from shore dives - which are perfect for training - to wreck dives - which attract amazing animals including sharks, huge stingrays and massive skools of fish.
What is the best spots in Qatar? Do you visit these spots?
My favorite dive site is Perculies, its a site reached only by boat, around 40/50 mins from shore. It's a huge ship that had a fire on board, half sinking the ship. The point of the ship remained pointing out of the water until the coast guard purposly blew up the middle to seperate it. Now its attracted a huge range of fish. Huge skools of barracuda and some smaller tropical fish.

The pre-requisite for the PADI open water is to be able to swim for 200m and float for 10 mins. You don't need to be a strong swimmer.
